Fruit Bats @ Neumos! (11.19.11, 21+)

HEY YOU. Interesting, catchy music with a hint of soul is hip and in style. So are The Fruit Bats. Playing at Nuemos & presented by KSUB - The Fruit Bats will make your heart leak some love. They have some synthesize sizzle going on that sounds like happiness in an open field.

 The band of five formed around 1997 under Eric Johnson’s influence. Johnson worked as an instructor at a school of folk music and had a space-rock band called Rowboat, which eventually evolved into The Fruit Bats. The sound is old world, a bit like something from the 70s. My recommendation is that if you enjoy Rogue Wave, Tame Impala or Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, see this show - and if you aren’t sure, go anyways because Nuemos is such a neato venue.
